Immunofluorescence microscopy
In this study we were investigating the role of satellite cells, which regenerate injured muscle. The green (fluorescein) stain tags an antibody that is a potential satellite cell marker. Cell nuclei are stained in blue with the DNA stain DAPI. The red/orange matrix is visualized because it binds green and red antibodies nonspecifically. Overall it generates a considerable spectrum of color and intensity.
