Visualization of atmospheric water vapor from a high-resolution (75km) global simulation using the Community Climate System Model (CCSM).
Our current generation of global climate models, such as those recently executed for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, are typically run at about 150km resolution. In the future, the international community will conduct experiments at much higher resolutions, like the realization shown here. Such simulations will provide much more detailed information on regional scales.
